Breastfeeding

The WHO recommends mothers worldwide to exclusively breastfeed infants for the child's first 6 months to achieve optimal growth, development and health. That said, at Truffle Pig Kitchen, we believe 'fed is best', and mothers need to make the right decision for themselves and their babies, and be supported along the way.

Things to consider:

  • Keep well hydrated
  • Eat a healthy balanced diet
  • Check your latch (your midwife, health visitor or lactation consultant can do this for you)
  • Get as much sleep as you can, easier said than done!
  • Try expressing milk, as breastfeeding is supply & demand. Your body will respond by producing more milk

Seek help from a midwife, health visitor, doctor or lactation consultant if you are having problems with milk supply or breastfeeding. You can call the National Breastfeeding Helpline on 0300 100 0212
